La Moneuse is named for A.J. Moneuse (b. 1768), a famous local bandit and gang leader, and ancestor of the brewers’ family.
La Moneuse Triple X is a stronger version of the original saison, originally brewed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Brasserie de Blaugies.
This unfiltered beer made from barley malt undergoes refermentation in the bottle.
It has a hardy, semi-dry malt character – fresh, but not overpowering hoppiness, abundant yeasty, fruity flavours and a fairly strong (but pleasant and enticing) mustiness.
Blaugies is a small family-owned craft brewery established in 1988 and creating unfiltered beers, refermented in bottles or in casks.
